Business Basics Grant

Own a website for your business through Queensland Government’s Business Basics Grants

Thanks to the Queensland Government’s Business Basics Grants, owning your own website could soon be a reality

The Queensland Government has just released details of its Business Basics Grants to help micro and small businesses in Australia. A one off payment of $5000 is available to businesses from 31 May 2021, to assist them with training or coaching programs, get a business website, re-construct an out of date website and to build effective, digital marketing plans like search engine optimisation strategies.
The program is administered by The Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT) and provides support to businesses to increase core skills and adopt best practice.

The program has invested in funding 5 main business priorities:

1. Training and coaching
2. Website build or upgrades
3. Professional business advice
4. Strategic marketing services
5. Business continuity and succession.

$5000 as a one of grant is available to businesses that are registered for GST, have an ABN, employ fewer than 20 people and have a projected turnover for the 2021 financial year of less than $300 000. Applications for the grant will start May 31 and run until funds are allocated or June 30, 2021, so if you are planning to get your application in do it as soon as you can.

Going digital is not always easy.

Rebel Digital has helped many local businesses get on line and develop their digital strategy and we can help you do this too. We’ve worked closely with clients using the Queensland government’s COVID 19 Business Adaption grants and we’re very familiar with the system.

Look at some of our work here.

Head of Digital, Kylie Freeman and her team works closely with their clients to make sure that the process of getting a website or rebuilding an old site is as easy as possible.

“We found that many of our clients wanting to digitise their businesses just didn’t know where to start.

We’ve heard many stories about businesses that are getting sold $1000 website builds from overseas companies and being left out in the cold when they realise that they are being held to ransom for support on their website or even worse, their business domain name.

Cheap doesn’t mean good. As the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.”

Once a website is completed, the next step is making it visible online to allow it to work effectively and bring in leads for the company. A lot of businesses don’t value search engine optimisation simply because they don’t understand how important it is.

The latest research from MYOB shows that SMEs with advanced levels of digital engagement are 50% more likely to grow revenue and earn 60% more revenue per person.

Stop being a small fish, jump in and compete in the digital space thanks to the Business Basics Grant
